Rheumatic fever, an inflammatory condition, can lead to rheumatic heart disease, a collection of acute and long-term cardiac conditions. Coronary heart disease, or coronary artery disease (CAD), is characterized by inflammation and fatty deposits along the coronary arteries. Cerebrovascular diseases, such as strokes, can cause blood vessel diseases in the brain, resulting in vascular complications.
